Rodriquez escapes censure for incident

RANGERS defender Julien Rodriguez has escaped trial by television following an incident during the 2-1 defeat at Hibernian in the Bank of Scotland Premier League on Sunday.

The 28-year-old was caught on camera appearing to grab Easter Road forward Chris Killen around the neck during the televised match. The incident was missed by referee John Underhill, who sent off Killen and Gers defender Phil Bardsley later in the game.

Players have received retrospective punishment in the past but no action will be taken against Rodriguez, meaning the Frenchman will not face a ban ahead of the Old Firm derby at Celtic Park on Saturday.
