Only a game?

SO OUR old friend Sepp Blatter, this time urged on by South Africa’s World Cup Organising Committee for 2010, has come up with another cracker to pop in the ‘Believe It Or Not File’.

The President of FIFA, speaking recently in Berlin, suggested that South Africa’s Robben Island could be the setting for a “reconciliation” between Zinedine Zidane and Marco Materazzi.

To recap, that’s Robben Island, the location of the prison where Nelson Mandela spent 27 years for his role in the fight against apartheid. And that’s Zidane and Materazzi, two professional footballers who created controversy in the World Cup final.
