Allardyce: Anelka needs time to settle

SAM Allardyce has warned Bolton fans not to expect too much too soon from record signing Nicolas Anelka.

The controversial French forward is due to make his debut against Watford at the Reebok Stadium on Saturday, launching his fourth separate career in the Premiership.

Now 27, Anelka has acquired the reputation of being a difficult player to deal with and his career is littered with fall-outs and short stop-offs, the most recent ending after 18 months in Turkey with Fenerbahce.
