JUVENTUS have lodged an appeal with the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) against the sanctions imposed on the club for their part in Serie A’s match-fixing scandal.

The club announced yesterday they would contest the decisions taken by the court, and will maintain they should be awarded the two Serie A titles for the 2004-05 and 2005-06 campaigns which have since been deducted.

Juve have also been hit with relegation to Serie B, from where they will start the new season with a 17-point penalty.
