UEFA seek Israeli assurances

THE Euro 2008 Qualifying game between Germany and the Republic of Ireland on September 2 will kick-off at 8.45pm local time in the Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadion, Stuttgart.

UEFA are demanding assurances from the Israeli football authorities that forthcoming matches will be able to take place in Tel Aviv.

The escalation of the conflict with neighbouring Lebanon has placed Israel’s qualifying home games for the 2008 European Championships in jeopardy.
