UEFA seek Israeli assurances
UEFA are demanding assurances from the Israeli football authorities that forthcoming matches will be able to take place in Tel Aviv.
The escalation of the conflict with neighbouring Lebanon has placed Israel’s qualifying home games for the 2008 European Championships in jeopardy.
Israel are due to play Andorra on September 6, Croatia on November 15 and, in particular, England on March 24 next year. UEFA could switch matches to a neutral venue.
