WOLVES yesterday completed the signing of Republic of Ireland international defender Gary Breen.

The 32-year-old — a free agent after parting company with Sunderland in May — has put pen to paper on a two-year deal.

He said: “Talks have been ongoing throughout the summer. I am happy it’s now been completed.”

Meanwhile Portsmouth goalkeeper Dean Kiely has handed manager Harry Redknapp a fitness boost after x-rays revealed he had not broken a finger. Former Ireland international Kiely was withdrawn before Portsmouth’s friendly against Torquay after complaining of pain in his finger, and was replaced by Jamie Ashdown.
