DERRY CITY yesterday sold out all available 2,400 tickets in double quick time for tomorrow week’s UEFA Cup first round, second leg tie against Swedish side IFK Gothenburg at the Brandywell.

Such was the demand for tickets that Derry could have sold at least 8,000 tickets for the game. Season ticket holders and the 300 fans who travelled to Sweden last week were given priority in the allocation.

“It is very disappointing for us as there are so many people who wanted to be there to watch this particular game especially after that great 1-0 win in the first leg in Gothenburg last Thursday,” said Derry Chief Executive, Jim Roddy.
