Quinn says Sunderland bid on track

CONTRARY to some suggestions, Niall Quinn was adamant last night that his consortium’s bid for Sunderland is still very much on track.

Quinn denied his investors had backed out of a proposed deal and insisted he hoped to be able to close the deal within 24 hours.

Quinn has been working all summer to put together a viable package, which it is understood could cost he and his partners around £16million.
