Bhoys show interest as Boro bid to keep Hasselbaink

MIDDLESBROUGH are facing a fight to hang on to Dutch striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. The 34-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the month, is being courted by a number of potential employers as new Boro boss Gareth Southgate attempts to tie up his future.

Reports over the weekend suggested that Celtic are among the interested parties, although Hasselbaink’s agent Humphry Nijman was giving little away.

Nijman said; “There is interest from different teams and we will have to wait and see what it’s going to bring. There is some interest from Scotland, but the name of the club has not been given to me.”
