Gudjohnsen seals switch to Barcelona

CHELSEA striker Eidur Gudjohnsen has joined Barcelona for £8m after telling the Premiership champions he wanted to quit the club in the summer.

Gudjohnsen has agreed personal terms and passed a medical to clinch a four-year deal at the Nou Camp. The Iceland striker made it clear to Chelsea he wanted to move on after playing a minor part in their second successive title success last season.

The versatile player had become increasingly frustrated towards the end of the season when he was given few first team opportunities and set his mind on a move away.
