Redknapp reveals Petrov interest

PORTSMOUTH manager Harry Redknapp has revealed Stilian Petrov is a player he is interested in signing.

Reports suggest he has flown to Tel Aviv for talks with millionaire backer Alexandre Gaydamak about his budget. Petrov submitted an official transfer request towards the end of last season, which was rejected by Celtic.

Redknapp said: “I like Petrov, he is obviously a top player and I am aware of the situation. But I’m not going to say anything else at the moment.”
