Chelsea seal deal for Kalou

CHELSEA have completed the signing of Feyenoord striker Salomon Kalou on a three-year deal.

The Stamford Bridge club signed the 20-year-old after he completed a medical and agreed personal terms.

An undisclosed fee has been agreed with the Dutch club for a striker who has scored 35 goals in 67 games over the last two seasons, plus four in seven UEFA Cup appearances.

Kalou scored 20 goals in the 2004/05 season, the second highest in the Dutch top flight that season, and he won the 2005 Johan Cruyff Award for young talent in Holland.

Meanwhile Chelsea have been fined £10,000 (€14,600) and warned as to their future conduct by the Football Association for the behaviour of their players in March’s Premiership match at Fulham. Events boiled over in the dying minutes, after William Gallas was sent off for a dangerous tackle on Fulham’s Heidar Helguson, with players from both teams getting involved.
