Kelly signs new Spurs deal

REPUBLIC of Ireland defender Stephen Kelly has signed a new one-year contract at Tottenham– but the club have confirmed that Mido will now return to Roma after his 18-month loan spell.

Kelly, who had been linked with a move to Birmingham, would have been out of contract this summer but the Dubliner has agreed to stay at White Hart Lane for another 12 months.

The 22-year-old is unlikely to have Mido as a team-mate next season, however, after Tottenham admitted talks to sign the Egyptian striker permanently from Roma had broken down.
