Morrison lets his mouth run him into trouble

CRYSTAL PALACE chairman Simon Jordan will lay down the law to Clinton Morrison after the striker claimed Jordan had a row with former boss Iain Dowie.

Morrison lets his mouth run him into trouble

Dowie has left Palace after two-and-a-half years as manager and is expected to be interviewed for the Charlton position, even though Palace said the decision was born chiefly from Dowie’s desire to work closer to his family home in the north-west.

Morrison claimed last week that Dowie and Jordan had had “a bit of a barney” — and the 27-year-old striker could be hit in the pocket by Jordan for his typically outspoken approach.

Dowie insisted Morrison “did not know what he was talking about”, and Jordan added: “Clinton needs to engage his brain before he opens his mouth, and he will be told that when he returns to the club.

“He needs to learn when to speak and when to be quiet, and Clinton should not talk about people like Iain Dowie and myself.

“When he comes back from international duty with the Republic of Ireland, he will probably be given a kick up the backside.

“Clinton is Clinton. I have known him for a long time, I know his mother, and I don’t think there is any malice there.

“The problem is that he gets in front of a camera and forgets that he’s opened his mouth.
