Injured four ruled out of Chile clash

AFTER a two-hour training session in Lagos on the Algarve yesterday, Irish manager Steve Staunton confirmed that four players are out of Wednesday’s game against Chile at Lansdowne Road.

Andy O’Brien, Joey O’Brien, Alan Quinn and Paddy Kenny did not train yesterday and are all ruled out with injury. Clinton Morrison, Steve Finnan and Alan Lee did some light training and their knocks will continue to be monitored over the next 48 hours.

Damien Duff, suffering from a sinus problem, also took no part but is expected to be fine.
