Steve’s screamer leaves Pardew with sense of déja vu

ALAN PARDEW suffered an agonising flashback when Steven Gerrard’s 30-yard screamer flew into the net and the FA Cup slipped from his grasp again.

The West Ham boss thought the trophy was won with the Hammers 3-2 up against Liverpool and a gripping final creeping into stoppage time.

Then Gerrard unleashed his thunderbolt, and Pardew suffered the same sinking feeling he had in 1990 when he played for Crystal Palace and drew 3-3 with Manchester United in that year’s same showpiece event.
