Shepherd hails ‘Mr Reliable’ as Given agrees new Magpies deal

NEWCASTLE goalkeeper Shay Given has signed a new five-year contract to keep him at St James’ Park until 2011.

The new deal will keep the goalkeeper, who was named in the Premiership’s team of the season, with Newcastle until he is aged 35.

“I’m extremely delighted to get my new contract sorted,” the Ireland international told the club’s website.
