CELTIC chief executive Peter Lawwell insists the club’s new training complex will rival any similar facility across Europe.

Celtic set training standard

The Glasgow giants have confirmed the new £7m facility will be built at Lennoxtown, on the north side of the city.

The 50-acre site at the former Lennox Castle Hospital will be ready for the start of next season and the Hoops’ chief believes it will put the club on a par with the leading clubs on the continent.

Lawwell said: “This will be a fantastic, world-class facility. It will be as good as anything in Europe.

“We have looked around the UK and Europe in terms of standards there, but, once this is built, we will stand along with the best.”
