Castletroy achieve unique double in style

CASTLETROY College continued completed a unique double over Moville Community College in the final of the Irish Senior Girls Cup at Ballymote yesterday.

In doing so they also retained their Senior Cup title, to go along with the Irish Junior Cup they won after defeating Moville.

The Limerick side dominated the game and saw Jenny Critchley score after 12 minutes with Niamh Mulcahy adding a second eight minutes later. But Moville refused to sit back and battled hard. However, they were rocked before half time when Jenny Critchley scored her second and her side’s third.

Castletroy made the game safe 10 minutes from time when Critchley hit a wonderful cross for Sarah Crotty to head home.
