Robbie upbeat despite injury

REPUBLIC of Ireland striker Robbie Keane expressed relief last night that his injured ankle is nothing more than ligament damage.

Keane will miss Sunday’s Premiership climax at West Ham, despite extensive treatment on the injury this week but revealed:

“I have had a scan already and there is nothing broken. That’s a good thing, so I think it could just be ligaments so we will have to wait and see. If it ends like this then it is a good ending, so I can’t complain.”
