Hislop out of crucial World Cup qualifier

IRISH striker Laura Hislop misses Saturday’s FIFA Women’s World Cup encounter against Scotland due to college exams in the United States.

The Franklin Pierce player starred in Ireland’s historic 2-0 win over Switzerland two weeks ago — the Republic’s first victory at this level.

Manager Noel King said: “Laura’s control, pace and eye for a goal bring a lot to the team and she will be missed.”

The game is at Richmond Park at 7pm.
