A goal on the hour from Aaron Lennon was enough to secure victory for Spurs. They are now seven points ahead of Arsenal, who have two games in hand.

If Arsenal should lose at Sunderland today or Manchester City on Thursday — or even draw both games — they cannot overtake their great north London rivals for the fourth Champions League spot, although they can make that position irrelevant if they beat Barcelona in the final on May 17.
