CORK City’s Michael Devine will see a specialist today, as hopes rise that the goalkeeper might recover sooner than expected from his shoulder injury.

Manager Damien Richardson says that in the last couple of days Devine has been feeling much improved, with the result that City may not now require short-term cover for the position currently being held down by veteran Phil Harrington, while both Devine and Mark McNulty are on the injured list.

If Devine’s recovery is accelerated, it would solve a problem for Richardson who has found obstacles impeding his search, at home and in England, for a stopgap replacement between the posts.
