Police quiz United star about traffic accident

MANCHESTER UNITED and Cameroon midfielder Eric Djemba Djemba was set to be interviewed by police after a car he was driving knocked down a teenage girl.

The incident involving 14-year-old Lauren Elms took place when Djemba Djemba was driving his 4x4 vehicle through the Harpurhey area of Manchester on Sunday. Elms suffered a broken leg and suspected head injuries in the accident and is now in the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital which has a specialised neurological unit.

Greater Manchester Police will interview Djemba Djemba, although there is as yet, no suggestion he was at fault for the incident.
