Fans urge United to stand firm against Glazer

MANCHESTER UNITED'S board were yesterday urged by fans to stand firm and resist a possible new takeover approach from major shareholder Malcolm Glazer, who has acquired 28.1% of the club.

Reports yesterday indicated that Glazer is to restructure his offer for the club, but Shareholders United vice-chairman Oliver Houston warned that Glazer will continue to encounter dissension from fans.
