City line up Fowler bid

ROBBIE FOWLER looks certain to become a Manchester City player by the end of next week.

Leeds boss Terry Venables said last week that he had received an inquiry for the 27-year-old England striker, who came off the bench during his club’s 2-1 defeat at Maine Road on Saturday.

City boss Kevin Keegan has set his sights on finding a partner for record signing Nicolas Anelka and is not prepared to take a chance on either Jon Macken or Paulo Wanchope making a full recovery from long-term injury.
