SCOTLAND manager Walter Smith insists he does not want to be portrayed as a footballing miracle worker should he mastermind a shock victory in Italy today.

The World Cup qualifier in the San Siro marks the former Rangers manager’s first game in charge since succeeding Berti Vogts in January.

It is also the first time he has picked a team in the three years since he left Everton and few are expecting anything other than victory for Marcello Lippi’s Azzurri, who are ranked 10th in the world compared to the Scots new low-point of 88th.
