Embattled McLeish won’t quit Rangers

A string of poor results in the Bank of Scotland Premier League, which sees Rangers languishing in fourth position, 10 points adrift of Celtic and Hearts, means McLeish found himself under pressure.

The trip to Slovakia marked the start of a difficult month, which includes two meetings with Old Firm rivals Celtic, but McLeish has every intention of hanging on.

Dado Prso gave Rangers a dream start when he netted with just three minutes on the clock but the opener was quickly cancelled out by Balazs Borbely.

Steven Thompson restored Rangers’ lead only for a Jan Kozak strike to earn Artmedia a point.

Artmedia’s second goal was particularly controversial when Brahim Hemdani took the decision to leave a looping ball for Ronald Waterreus to collect but the Rangers goalkeeper was well off his line, allowing Kozak to score.
