Beattie not for sale, says Lowe

SOUTHAMPTON chairman Rupert Lowe has warned Aston Villa that striker James Beattie is not for sale, especially at a ‘knockdown price’ of £6 million.

He admits he cannot wait for the transfer window to close at the end of the month so the ongoing saga dies.

Villa boss David O’Leary has been keen to sign England international Beattie with his Colombian frontman Juan Pablo Angel still sidelined with a knee injury.
