They failed utterly to trouble a well-organised and capable UCD defence and the points lost did nothing to help their prospects of European football next season.

UCD deserved their draw and lived up to their reputation as Cork’s bogey team. Not only did they succeed in highlighting weaknesses in Cork’s approach, they succeeded in creating a number of scoring chances that might well have given them a surprise win.
