No enquiries for De la Cruz, says O’Leary

ASTON VILLA manager David O’Leary insists unhappy defender Ulises De la Cruz is not being priced out of a move away from the midlands club.

No enquiries for De la Cruz, says O’Leary

De la Cruz, 31, has claimed Villa are looking for about £200,000 (€292,000) before off-loading him and believes this is a stumbling block for any interested parties.

The Ecuador international feels he needs to leave Villa to obtain the regular football he believes is necessary ahead of the World Cup.

But O’Leary is adamant there is no price tag on the player and Villa have not received any enquiries.

And he dismissed reports Eric Djemba-Djemba is to move to Spain on loan. Djemba-Djemba’s agent this week claimed an unnamed Spanish club was to sign him until the end of the season.

But O’Leary said: “There are so many rumours in football but I can still say nobody has been in touch with me about Eric.”
