LEE BOWYER will have to carry over any suspension imposed for stamping on an opponent’s head even if he moves clubs.

Bowyer faces ban even in new club

The Leeds midfielder faces the prospect of a lengthy suspension and a possible fine after being charged today for stamping on a Spanish opponent’s head during the UEFA Cup defeat by Malaga.

He will be dealt with at a meeting of UEFA’s control and disciplinary body on January 8 and is likely to be banned for at least three matches and possibly even longer due to past misdemeanours in Europe.
