LUIZ FELIPE SCOLARI should be appointed as the next England manager ahead of Martin O’Neill or Steve McClaren, insists former Middlesbrough star Juninho, who has played under all three candidates.

The former Brazil midfielder played under McClaren during his third spell at The Riverside before going on loan to Celtic where he came under O’Neill’s tutelage until his departure from the British game a year ago.

However, after being part of Scolari’s successful 2002 World Cup campaign, the 33-year-old is adamant the current Portugal boss is the best candidate for the job.
