Mourinho warning for Fergie and Wenger

JOSE MOURINHO is determined not to become embroiled in psychological warfare with Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson.

But the Chelsea manager yesterday warned both Ferguson and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger they will wait in vain for Chelsea's season to implode.

Both Ferguson and Wenger insist Chelsea's title challenge will suffer a loss of form at some stage of the campaign.

But Mourinho scoffed at the suggestions boasting it was implausible his side would lose two or three games in a row.

Mourinho remains embroiled in controversy over midweek remarks he made about the conduct of Manchester United's players, Ferguson and referee Neale Barry during their Carling Cup semi-final.

Yet he is adamant the war of words will not deflect him from plotting Tottenham's downfall at White Hart Lane today.

Mourinho's comments, in which he accused United's players of cheating, are being examined by the FA.

He is determined to fight any FA action and says punishment would be unfair.

But he will also battle the rivals who suggest a Chelsea blip is on the cards.

With regard to Ferguson, Mourinho said: "He can play mind games alone or with other managers, but not with me.

"I don't see Chelsea having a blip. I can see us losing one game. I can see Chelsea lose a game any day, any game. But I cannot see Chelsea losing two or three consecutive games."

Tottenham, now up to seventh in the Premiership, have not beaten Chelsea in the league for 29 games.

Mourinho accused them of 'parking the team bus' in front of goal in a bore draw at Stamford Bridge under former coach Jacques Santini earlier this season.

However, Santini has left and new coach Martin Jol has them playing exciting football, which last month earned him the Barclays Manager of the Month award.

Mourinho admits it will be a different Spurs side at White Hart Lane, and their approach might force Chelsea into parking the bus in front of goal this time.

Mourinho added: "Spurs are one of the best teams at the moment. I was a bit critical of them at the beginning of the season when they faced us but now I have to take my hat off to them. They play fantastic football.

"We will bring the bus this time. We are going to try to win but the way they attack, maybe we will need to park the bus. Spurs have the ambition to beat Chelsea and they are playing very well.

"Martin Jol has won the manager of the month and deserves it. That is the best compliment I can give him. Tottenham have changed completely under him. They had one or two bad weeks and results but that is normal because transition is never easy.

"They have a team of the future. They have a young team. Only Nourredine Naybet is old but he is a top old player."
