Van Nistelrooy apologises for lashing out in training

MANCHESTER UNITED striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has apologised to his Holland team-mates after he was involved in a skirmish with defender Ron Vlaar during a training session yesterday.

The 29-year-old kicked out at Vlaar after he was tackled by the AZ Alkmaar player in training.

After a dressing down by coach Marco van Basten, Van Nistelrooy made amends with Vlaar before apologising to the squad.

Van Basten said: “I indeed reprimanded Ruud and for me the case is now closed. He apologised and that’s good enough for me.”
