Toshack lands Murcia job

REAL MURCIA have confirmed John Toshack as coach following the sacking of Joaquin Peiro.

Murcia president Jesus Samper had indicated that the much-travelled Welshman - who has Real Madrid, Swansea and Wales on his CV would be the man to try and save the club from an immediate relegation back to the second division.

That decision was rubber-stamped on Tuesday and Samper told the club's website: "He is the best option of those that were on the table."
