Babayaro hit with three-game ban

NEWCASTLE defender Celestine Babayaro has been banned for three matches by the FA after admitting a charge of violent conduct.

The charge came following an incident also involving Everton’s Tim Cahill during Sunday’s 1-0 defeat at Goodison Park.

By admitting the charge, Babayaro is instantly banned, starting with last night’s Carling Cup tie at Wigan, while Everton will submit evidence to a FA commission today in a bid to save Cahill from suspension.

The pair were involved in an incident which saw them both lash out at each other after tangling in the penalty area during the match.
