Moyes denies rift with Rooney

EVERTON manager David Moyes insisted yesterday he enjoyed “a great relationship” with Wayne Rooney.

The 18-year-old England striker is struggling to find his form at domestic level and was unhappy at being taken off in the second half of the defeat by Bolton.

Moyes is concerned about Rooney’s off-field commercial activities and was keen to see how he reacted after his much-publicised mid-week trip to Madrid.
