Pandiani agrees Espanyol deal

BIRMINGHAM striker Walter Pandiani has signed a contract until June 2008 with Espanyol. The Uruguay international will undergo a medical today to complete the £1m transfer and is to be unveiled to the Spanish media later in the day.

Pandiani agrees Espanyol deal

The 29-year-old first joined Blues on loan in January 2005 from Deportivo La Coruna before the move was made permanent in early August for £3m.

This will be Pandiani’s third spell in the Primera Liga following spells with Deportivo and Mallorca - who he rejected the chance to join earlier this month. Pandiani’s departure will provide manager Steve Bruce with the spending power to try to sign out-of-favour Charlton striker Jason Euell. The City manager watched him in reserve action in midweek. Chris Sutton is poised to make his debut alongside Emile Heskey against the Addicks at The Valley on Saturday.
