Brum boss Bruce confirms Euell interest

BIRMINGHAM manager Steve Bruce has confirmed his interest in signing out-of-favour Charlton striker Jason Euell.

Bruce wants to add the £1.5m-rated Euell to new signing Chris Sutton who will make his debut against the Addicks at The Valley today.

The City boss had been monitoring Euell in the summer before he was laid low with a shoulder problem.

Euell, 28, has fallen out with Alan Curbishley and has stressed his need to quit Charlton to resurrect his career. Bruce, who watched Euell in action for the reserves in midweek, is reluctant to talk about potential signings but admitted he hoped to tie up a deal before the transfer window closes on January 31.
