United chase South Korean

PSV Eindhoven will allow midfielder Ji-Sung Park to speak to Manchester United after confirming the Premiership club had made an approach. PSV do not want to lose the services of the 24-year-old South Korea international but say they cannot stop Park moving.

Club spokesman Pedro Salazer-Hewitt said: “The only person who will decide his future is Park. We want to keep him, as we want to keep all our best players, but we know the system and we know that if another club make an official offer it’s a possibility we will lose the player. United have officially asked about Park and the player has been informed.”

United have already made a move in the market since the season ended by agreeing terms with Dutch goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar. The 34-year-old will finalise his move this week.
