Let Robbie rot in the reserves where we can forget about him
For someone of such obviously limited ability, I fail to understand why he attracts interest from other clubs.
I’m only pleased that Birmingham City have finally cottoned on to his shenanigans; and the fans, too, who booed the Welshman when he appeared for the reserves the other night.
Savage was offered and signed a new four-year contract in the summer after his ‘boyhood team’, Everton, tried to buy him. I’m still trying to fathom out why. It was a narrow escape for David Moyes. Now, just a few months later, Savage, no doubt tapped up, wants to go to Blackburn.
The player says he wants to be nearer to his ‘ill’ parents who live in Wrexham. Whatever his nastiness around the pitch, Savage is intelligent so his ignorance of geography is not only questionable, it’s laughable. Worse, the sob story about the parents appears to have been made up.
I suspect that Rovers will, soon enough, come up with sufficient readies to assuage Birmingham’s reluctance to sell. However, I wish they wouldn’t. I’d rather Birmingham let him rot in the reserves. Out of sight, he’d be permanently out of mind too.
