Du Wei determined to become one of the Bhoys

NEW Celtic signing Du Wei has vowed to fight for a first-team place after penning a four-year deal.

The China international has a review clause for January inserted into his contract with the Hoops. But the 23-year-old, who has joined from Shanghai Shenhua, is determined to make his mark at Celtic Park.

Du said: “I’m very, very happy to be here in Glasgow again and I’m ready to take the next step in my career with Celtic. I hope to be ready for the first team very soon. That’s why I’m here.

“The things that have been happening over the last few weeks are now in the past for me. I’m just so grateful for Celtic making such a strong commitment to me and putting so much effort into pushing this transfer through.

“I’ll now be doing everything in my power to prove I’m worth the trust Celtic have placed in me. I’ll fight to get my chance at Celtic and I’m confident this can be a success.”
