No French dress rehearsal for Irish youngsters

THERE will be no glamour tie against the French for the young U-12 Irish team at the Danone Nations Cup World Finals in Lyon, unless they make it through to the quarter-finals.

For the third consecutive year Ireland will meet Canada. In 2003, they met in a Ireland’s penultimate game, the Canadians winning on penalties but last year the Irish got revenge with a 1-0 win in their final group game.

Ireland start their campaign today against the group favourites Holland, and meet Indonesia in their final game.
