Pennant: Blues have faith in Bruce

JERMAINE PENNANT has revealed the faith Birmingham players have in manager Steve Bruce and the desire in the squad to escape relegation.

Blues have put themselves back in with a chance of avoiding the drop after Monday’s 2-0 home win over Wigan left them only three points behind fourth-from-bottom West Brom with a game in hand.

Bruce has come in for criticism but Pennant insisted the board of directors were right not to panic and make changes. “The board have got a lot of faith in Steve Bruce and he has done a lot for Birmingham so it is understandable why they stick by him,” Pennant said.
