It is a mission they embrace with ardour, and one they know well how to accomplish. They have merely to outscore St. Patrick’s Athletic in tomorrow’s final of the FAI Carlsberg Cup at Lansdowne Road (3 pm).

Longford might talk bravely about their prospects of fulfilling their wish, but they know it will be difficult. St. Pat’s denied them already this season, when they won the final of the League Cup at Richmond Park.
