Rangers boss Holloway targets experienced Wise

FORMER Millwall manager Dennis Wise is poised to join the Lions’ London rivals QPR as a player.

Rangers boss Ian Holloway is keen to add the 38-year-old midfielder’s experience and expertise to his squad for the 2005-06 campaign, and Wise is believed to be close to agreeing a one-year deal with the club he supported as a boy.

Wise quit the Lions as player-boss at the end of the recently-concluded season following a series of disagreements with new chairman Jeff Burnidge, but the former England international wants to prolong his playing career.

Rangers chairman Bill Power said earlier this week that his club had “a very high-profile player” - almost certain to be Wise - on the verge of moving to Loftus Road.
