Furious fans challenge Gill

IRATE Manchester United fans have called on chief executive David Gill to run a poll on the club’s official website to prove his claim that only a “small minority” of fans are against Malcolm Glazer’s takeover.

Supporters’ group Shareholders United have been astonished by some of the claims Gill has made over Glazer’s buy-out in recent days.

Having previously stated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers owner’s business plan was “aggressive” and “potentially damaging” to the long-term interests of the club, SU are now accusing Gill of hypocrisy for his wholehearted backing of Glazer’s ownership.

Gill has admitted offering to donate cash to SU, who failed to stop the buyout. He insists he will not step down.
