FAI Carlsberg Cup holders Longford Town could be on target to retain the trophy after last night being given a home tie against Drogheda United in the semi-final draw at Dublin’s Guinness Storehouse.

The holders, who won the trophy in such emphatic style at Lansdowne Road last season with that 2-0 victory over St Patrick’s Athletic, will face Drogheda, currently second in the league, at Flancare Park on Sunday, October 3 (kick-off - 3.15pm).

Meanwhile, the other semi-final between Derry City and Waterford United goes ahead at the Brandywell on the previous Friday, October 1, with a 7.45 pm kick-off.
