The Brazilian came off the bench but missed a last-minute penalty as Real Madrid were forced to settle for a goalless draw. The result does neither side any favours in their increasingly desperate efforts to catch runaway leaders Barcelona, who were surprisingly beaten 2-1 by Osasuna in the late game last night.

Goals from Valdo and Punal from the penalty spot gave Osasuna a 2-0 lead, Larsson getting one back for Barca.
